Mark Anastas | President
Mark has worked in the high tech and software industry in a variety of technical and management roles for the past 25 years. These include positions at Intel, Sequent, and most recently was President and Chief Operating Officer of a Webridge, Inc, a software company he co-founded in 1996.
He has first-hand experience managing in companies through the complete life cycle from startup through growth stages. Responsibilities have included the development and implementation of operations plans, core team recruitment, raising venture capital, and at one time or another has had direct management responsibility for sales, marketing, engineering, professional services, and customer support.
Mark has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Washington. In his free time he enjoys snow skiing, flying airplanes, sports cars, kayaking, and digital photography.
Ram Venkatesh | Founder & CEO
Venkatesh has extensive experience in the software industry, and has been the technical leader for a broad spectrum of enterprise software products. Prior to starting S3Edge, Venkatesh was the Software Architect of Microsoft BizTalk RFID. While at Microsoft, Venkatesh worked on a number of innovations around database technologies and the integration of the .NET framework into SQL Server, which yielded more than thirty patent applications. His work experience includes senior technical roles at GemStone, Webridge, and Amazon.com, where he was responsible for the inventory planning and forecasting systems.
Venkatesh is a metallurgical engineer from the Regional Engineering College Trichy, India, with masters degrees in Materials Science and Computer Science from the Oregon Graduate Institute. A closet Smalltalk programmer, in his spare time he likes to travel around India and the world.
Anush Kumar | CTO
Anush joins S3Edge following a distinguished career at Microsoft, where he worked on multiple incubations from concept to shipping, most recently as the company’s RFID business leader responsible for the creation, strategy and execution of the Microsoft RFID vision world-wide. Anush has been BizTalk RFID’s leading light from early incubation of the project to its recent productization efforts, and has been heavily involved in the design and architecture of the BizTalk RFID product, with multiple patents to his name. More recently Anush’s efforts have resulted in the vibrant partner and customer ecosystem for the product and he is a sought after speaker and thought-leader in this space.
Prior to RFID, Anush worked on the business rules engine for BizTalk Server 2004, technology that has been deployed by several enterprise customers to improve agility and increase efficiency of their business processes. In his spare time, Anush enjoys backpacking off the beaten track; volunteers for organizations focused on education, and is a huge fan of Malcolm Gladwell, Nick Carr, Guy Kawasaki, cricket, cooking, bungee jumping, and of course All Things RTVS™! Anush holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from University of Madras and a Masters degree in Engineering from Dartmouth College.
Abhishek Agarwal | Founder & COO
The operational head of S3, Abhishek brings deep Microsoft server expertise to the management team. Based out of the India Development Center for the last eight years, he has significant "ship-it" experience with global development, developing complex products across geographies. Most recently, he was the principal development manager for Microsoft BizTalk RFID, one of the first end-to-end incubations out of India for Microsoft. Some of the other products that he helped deliver include WSRM, the Windows Server Resource Manager, the Microsoft Operations Manager, and multiple versions of MSN Messenger. A hard-core server guy, he is passionate about building scalable solutions.
Abhishek has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from IIT Bombay and a master’s degree in computer science from Johns Hopkins University, Maryland. He enjoys sports during his free time.
Ravi Vankamamidi | Founder & Chief Solutions Officer (CSO)
Ravi's expertise is in taking platforms and products to end customers and helping them realize the end to end solution. A seasoned veteran of the software product development process in various capacities for the last 13 years, his professional experience includes stints at CA (Computer Associates), Metavante, and Cyberbills, a financial services startup focused on online bill management solutions for large banking customers.
Before joining S3Edge, Ravi was heading the Small & Medium business unit in India for CA. Ravi has a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from JNTU, Hyderabad, with a Masters in Computer Science from Iowa State University. In his spare time, Ravi likes to read fiction books and travel around the world.
